Letter to the editor: Professors, director respond to strip club story’s headline

To the Editor:

The editors and staff of The Daily O'Collegian should be embarrassed by the demeaning headline that appeared on the front page of the Jan. 31, 2012 edition ("Diamond in...").

OUR VIEW: Professors acted without class

Letter sent to student jounalists after controversial headline

We believe the professors who signed the letter made demeaning and condescending remarks toward the students they are by profession supposed to mentor.

Column: Unprofessional professors

Opinon Editor responds to letter sent by SMSC faculty

There are few things that get me truly upset. I am easily annoyed, and I have a bit of road rage, but I almost never get angry.

I can say that I was angry when I read the letter from the School of Media and Strategic Communications faculty. In fact, never have I felt more attacked in my life.

Column: Keep it classy, OSU

I don't mind getting hate mail; it comes with the job.

I don't even mind when fellow students approach me on my way to class and let me know how they feel about this paper. In fact, I encourage it.

I do mind when one of my employees gets harassed.

Letter to the editor: Campus reaction to headline was silly

In regards to the front page story from Tuesday, what scares me more than a new strip club opening in town is the angry mob that seems to follow it. When did we become a people who judged what news could be printed and what had to be censored? Just because every other newspaper in Oklahoma has embraced the religious right doesn't mean the O'Colly has to follow suit.

Letter to the editor: Speaking on behalf of women is sexist

Dear O'Colly Readers,

To briefly sum up my thoughts regarding your thoughts on the article "Diamond in the Muff," I'd like to touch on a few key points.

First, as Oklahoma State University is a public college and the O'Colly has a certain level of freedom of press (I assume), the topics they choose do not have to cater to your particular brand of sensibilities.
